The Rio de Janeiro proposal for Olympics and Paralympics 2016 succeeded to host the games of the XXXI Olympiad and the XV Paralympics Game, respectively. The proposal was submitted on 7th of September, 2007 and noticed as a Candidate City by the International Olympics Committee (IOC) a week later. On 4th of June 2008, the Executive Board of International Olympics Committee (IOC) shortlisted Rio de Janeiro with three of the six other Applicant cities. Rio de Janeiro strategized to manage the Olympics at a cost of 14.4 billion USD being able to conduct all sports events excluding football in the interior of the city. Four different locations have set for the sporting events to take place. They are Barra, Copacabana, Deodoro, and Maracana. Football matches will be conducted in the cities of Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Salvador and Sao Paulo.

That's roughly 356 hours of coverage per day (19 days).
